This is our 6 week Spring term Forest School after school club, with collection from St Paul Steiner school
Weekly on Thursdays starting 22nd February 2024
We’ve got so many exciting activities in store for Forest school this Spring term! Forest school activities closely follow the seasons but include herbal tea making, foraging for food and cooking, leather-work, making mallets and green woodcarving using tools, shelter building and dens, rope work, making dipped beeswax candles, whittling, clay work, felting, weaving & dyeing – each session includes grounding activities and games to help children rest and connect with nature and the environment – and offers opportunities to make new friends.
What to bring:
Please pack a Snack, water bottle, rain-coat and waterproof trousers – an extra layer is always a good idea as we are outside for the whole of the sessions. Please wear outdoor shoes – so wellies are great, but just something that you don’t mind getting wet/muddy!
Weather – when it rains we put up a tarpaulin shelter for the children to keep dry under, however being out in the rain can be fun and offers loads of opportunities for Forest school activities; splashing in puddles, making rivers and dams, collecting and transporting water, making mud slides- the children’s imagination goes wild with things to do in the rain!
We play lots of organised games, capture the flag, 40/40 home, eagle eyes, evolution, bat & Mouse and make sure that those who are feeling a bit cautious have plenty of opportunities to join in and make new friends.
Term dates:
22nd Feb – 28th March 2024
1.15-3.15pm
We believe forest school should be open to all – so we offer limited reduced cost spaces to those who are unwaged for our clubs where possible. Please email us for details.
